The municipality of Poljčane has adopted a coat of arms, on 18 September 2007, as reported in the records of the session of the municipal council Zapisnik 8. redne seje Občinskeg sveta Občine Poljčane.
The coat of arms was designed by Valt Jurečič of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica.

The coat of arms of Poljčane is "Argent in the base of a pile reversed vert a barullet wavy of the first and in chief two flowers purpure seeded or and vert".
The flag is apparently not yet adopted, as the records log the decision that Valt is going to prepare three proposals for the flag design.

The flower depicted is a pasqueflower (Pulsatilla grandis), a protected species found in the regional park Boč, located in the municipality.
Pulsatilla grandis Wender belongs to Family Ranunculaceae. The species name was coined by Matthiolus (Pier Andrea Mattioli, 1500-1577, botanist and gardener of the Medicis in Florence). While the root of this name is undoubtly the Latin verb pulsare, "to beat", what Matthiolus really intended to mean when chosing this name is not known. The seeds of the plant are borne on the featherly appendage of the carpel, which is "beaten" by the wind, allowing seed dispersal. Another explanation of the name of the flower is related to its medicinal properties (Matthiolus was a specialist of medicinal herbs), the pasqueflower provoking troubles of the cardiac ryhtm.
The common name of the flower is much easier to understand: the pasqueflower blooms around the times of Passover.
