Guadalcanal: the island was named by its discoverer, Álvaro de Mendaña de Neira, after his home town in Spain.

I found an olive green version of the Guadalcanal Province flag. I think that
changed around 2004 from ocher-brown color to olive-green color. Unfortunately I
have no more information.

flag is brown and the emblem on the flag is in black and white. That's confirmed
