Vijay (Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, b. 1974) is a famous Tamil actor,
nicknamed "laya Thalapathy" ("Young General"). Vijay's filmography is in the
Internet Movie Database.
Quoting "The Times of India":
"Putting to rest speculations about his entry into politics, actor Vijay on Sunday unveiled the flag of his fan club at a grand function organised to celebrate his birthday [on 23 June 2008]. The star, who spoke on the occasion, said that he decided to opt for a flag after a friend in Erode requested him to start a party, have a flag and enter politics. "I told him that it isn't easy to start a party. Moreover, my fans are there in all parties. I want to remain neutral."
"However, I told him that I will have a flag for my Narpani Mandram. It's not
that you have to be in a political party to do good deeds. My fans are already
doing a lot of good deeds and they will continue to do so," he said to
thunderous applause at the University auditorium. The flag, which has a blue
sphere on a white background with Vijay's picture, also has the words "uzhaithidu"
(work) and "uyarnthidu" (succeed) on it. It was unfurled by the star along with
his father and certain members of the fan clubs, including the state head of the
fan clubs Jeyaseelan and state secretary Ravirajan. [...]"
